GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS 

 

All graduates must complete all required coursework (a sample is below, but does not replace individual counseling by the student's senior advisor or college representative) and additional elective coursework to equal at least 25 credits for graduating with a Standard Diploma. A College Prep Diploma requires 26 credits and an Advanced Diploma requires 27 credits.  Additonally, a score of 16 on the ACT is required to receive a diploma.  Those students not completing the stated requirements will receive a certificate of attendance.  Please see the current TCA handbook for changes in requirements or diploma options.

 

 

Graduation Required CORE Coursework:

 

Four English Credits: English 9, 10, 11, 12  (or dual enrollment option for grades 11 and 12) 

                                       

Four Math Credits:  Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus, Math Electives    

                           

Four Social Studies Credits:  World History, US History, American Government/Economics, Advanced United States History 

 

Four Science Credits: Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Science Electives

 

 

Graduation Required ELECTIVE Coursework:  

 

Bible: 4 credits

 

Physical Education: 1 credit (extra P.E. credits may not be earned through sport team participation)

 

Health Education: .5  credit

 

Computer Applications: 1 credit

 

Foreign Language:  1 credit (Standard)  or  2 credits (College Prep or Advanced)

 

Electives:  1.5 (Standard)  or  2.5 (College Prep or Advanced) - fine arts 

 

 

ACT Minimum Scores:

 

To graduate from Trinity Christian Academy, a student must earn an ACT score of 16 or above, otherwise a certificate of attendance will be issued and the student will be directed to apply for a GED.  

 

              Standard Diploma: 16                        College Prep Diploma: 17                      Advanced Diploma: 21
