GRADES K4 THROUGH 6:   

Young students learn many things from a classroom environment.  Character development will be enhanced with classroom counseling lessons that address obedience, honesty, humbleness, and self-control.  As academics are introduced, listening skills and critical thinking skills are enhanced. Mentally and emotionally they realize that they are accountable for their actions and begin making their own decisions.  Parents and educators must work together to ensure student's have the tools to make decisions regarding academics and relationships that will benefit them by using teachable moments to build character, empathy, and resilence.  Classroom counseling lessons and school wide programs help ensure young children learn how to communicate effectively with peers and adults.  Monthly topics are addressed in a familiar classroom setting to instill personal growth, critical thinking, and coping skills.  I am available to help students through difficult personal times or crisis situations.  Lesson topics will vary from month to month and year to year dependent upon data reflecting student need.  Requests and referrals may be made by using the contact tab on this site or dropping a referral form into the couseling mailbox in the academy office.
